Diane Stormont has spent the past 23 years in Asia as a working journalist specialising in hard political and economic news. A 10-year stint at Reuters news agency, which culminated in her running Hong Kong operations as Bureau Chief during the historic 1997 handover of the British colony to China, took her around the world covering stories as diverse as earthquakes and coup attempts, sporting events to central bank forums.
 
She spent three years in South Korea as deputy bureau chief covering the liberalisation of the financial markets, trade and heavy industry as well as the student demonstrations and the birth pangs of the country's first civilian administration. She has filed for a wide range of publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Economist, the Daily Deal and Lloyd's List Maritime Asia.
 
Diane was President of the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents' Club from 1998-99 and President of the Seoul Foreign Correspondents' Club from 1991-92.
