Train-The-Trainer
Training and Facilitation Skills
Aim

The aim of this workshop is to develop the skills necessary to
both prepare and deliver results focussed training programmes that
are both enjoyable and beneficial
Outcomes

This workshop develops the trainer skills in two key areas:
Preparation
By the end of this workshop, participants will know how to address
the three key stages of running a workshop:
a) Pre-course
- identifying needs and expectations of the participants
- setting aims and objectives and making these clear to the
participants
- establishing dates and times suitable to the participants
- collecting material and devising role plays that are practical,
relevant, and fun
- aiming high and being realistic
b) Implementation
- allocating and prioritizing tasks and time
- Time management - keeping to the agenda but also being flexible
- "housekeeping": setting ground rules, dealing with interruptions
- adding variety of visuals and materials
- controlling the environment
c) Follow-up
- Workshop evaluation - participant and facilitator
- Hand-outs and action-plans
- Long term retention of information and/or skills
Delivery
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a working knowledge
of:
- Creating and maintaining a motivational environment
- Monitoring and evaluating performance
- Staying in control
- Encouraging and allowing participation from everyone
- Critiquing constructively
- Active listening
- Handling objections and 'difficult' questions
